The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
RoK Incorporated, Robert Kosse
Florastraße 70, 13187 Berlin, Germany
Phone: +49 179 1400258
E-mail: r.kosse@rokinc.de
For all questions about data protection, please contact us at the address above.
2. Overview
You can read The Conscious Channel without telling us who you are. We process personal data only to the extent needed to run the website, if you give us your consent, or if you contact us or sign up for our newsletter. The sections below explain which data is processed, why, on which legal basis and for how long.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Alfahosting GmbH, Edmund-von-Lippmann-Straße 13-15, 06112 Halle (Saale), Germany. The hosting provider processes data on our behalf.
When you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits technical information that is stored in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and version, and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the website, to keep it secure and to detect errors. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website). The log files are stored only for a limited period and then deleted.
4. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by “https://” in your browser’s address bar), so that data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
5. Cookies and consent management
We use the consent management platform consentmanager, provided by consentmanager AB, Haltegelvägen 1b, 72348 Västerås, Sweden. When you first visit the site, it asks for your consent to optional services (statistics and advertising) and stores your decision in a cookie, so that we can respect it on later visits. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (storing consent is required by law and technically necessary).
Optional services such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense and our view counter are blocked until you agree. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page.
6. Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and for how long. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4. The information may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie Settings”. More information: Google Privacy Policy.
7. Google AdSense (only with your consent)
We may show advertisements provided by Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited (address above). If you consent, Google uses cookies and similar technologies to display ads and to measure them, and, depending on your choice, to personalise them. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (see section 6). Without your consent, no AdSense scripts are loaded.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time via “Cookie Settings”. Information about how Google uses data on partner websites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The file /ads.txt lists our authorised advertising seller.
8. View counter (only with your consent)
To show our most-read articles, we count article views with the WordPress plugin Post Views Counter, which runs on our own server. The counter only runs if you consent to measurement in the cookie settings. It then stores a cookie (pvc_visits) in your browser for 24 hours so that repeated visits to the same article are not counted twice. Only aggregated view counts per article are stored; no data is passed to third parties.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie Settings”.
9. Fonts
The fonts used on this website (Inter, Lora, Instrument Serif) are hosted on our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other external font services is made.
10. Newsletter and contact forms
If you sign up for our newsletter or send us a request via a form on this website (for example on the “Perspectives” page), we process the data you enter: your name, e-mail address and, where requested, your organisation, together with the time of submission. We use this data only to send you the newsletter or to answer your request.
The form data is transmitted via Google Apps Script to Google Ireland Limited and stored in Google Sheets on our behalf; a transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out (see section 6).
Legal basis: for the newsletter, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); for requests, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering your request). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, for example by e-mail to r.kosse@rokinc.de. We delete your data when you unsubscribe or when your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
11. Contact by e-mail or phone
If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the data once your request has been completed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
12. Events widget
The “Upcoming Events” box shows events of Sacred Healing Arts listed on the ticket platform Hipsy. Our server retrieves the event list directly from Hipsy; no data about you is transmitted in the process. Only if you click on an event will you be taken to Hipsy’s website, where Hipsy’s privacy policy applies.
13. Links to external services and social media
Our articles link to original sources, to YouTube videos and to our profiles on Instagram and Google News. These are plain links; no plugins or embedded content of these services are loaded on our pages. Data is only transmitted to these providers once you click a link and visit their website.
14. How our articles are produced
We use automation and AI services (for example OpenAI) to research, summarise and draft articles and to create illustrations. No data about visitors to this website is transmitted to these services.
15. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). If processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). To exercise your rights, simply contact us using the details in section 1.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, www.datenschutz-berlin.de.
16. Changes to this policy
We update this privacy policy when our website or the services we use change. The current version is always available on this page.
